Job summary

The L.S. Starrett Company is seeking a Field Service Technician to support Starrett Metrology Systems across customer sites. You will install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair advanced precision measurement systems and provide on-site and remote technical assistance.

This role requires strong mechanical/electrical skills, willingness to travel frequently (overnight), and the ability to train customers while maintaining accurate service reports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical experience in electronics/engineering technology.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical docs and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and validate precision measurement equipment at customer facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support and training to customers.
• Complete service reports, expense reports, and maintain inventory and tools.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and distributors to resolve issues.
