Job summary

The L.S. Starrett Company is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, calibrate, maintain and repair advanced metrology systems at customer sites across PA, NY, OH and New England.

This full-time role combines on-site fieldwork with remote support, requiring frequent travel and strong technical problem-solving. You will train customers, document service activities, and collaborate with Sales, Engineering and distributors to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical experience required.
• Experience with industrial equipment, automation, or precision instrumentation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and validate precision measurement equipment at customer facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and application problems.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
• Train customers on equipment operation and software functionality.
• Prepare accurate service reports and maintain documentation.
