Job summary

WOW! is hiring a Field Service Technician in the Lanett, AL area. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain WOW! internet, phone, and video services for customers in their homes and businesses. The role is field-based, customer-facing, and requires independent problem solving and reliable attendance.

You will perform new installations, upgrades, relocations, and service changes, while educating customers on proper use of equipment and services. Safety and accurate record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and respond to time-sensitive issues.
• Comfort using hand tools, testing equipment, and mobile applications.
• Ability to read maps and navigate assigned service areas.
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
• Experience using signal level meters, volt-OHM meters, spectrum analyzers, or similar testing equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot WOW! internet, phone, and video services in assigned neighborhoods.
• Complete installations, reconnections, upgrades, downgrades, and service changes.
• Install and relocate outlets, modems, converters, wiring, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot service issues from customer equipment to network tap.
• Perform network testing and diagnose signal degradation or outages.
• Educate customers on using equipment and services.
• Maintain safety standards and complete work orders and reports.
