Job summary

ENGEL Machinery North America is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, service, and train customers at client sites across North America. The role requires troubleshooting injection molding machines and robots, performing safety checks, and providing hands-on instruction to operators and customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in injection molding troubleshooting or field service, strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; associate/bachelor degree preferred.
• 5+ years in injection molding troubleshooting or field service experience.
• Knowledge of blueprints and schematics for electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with injection molding machines and basic training for customers/employees.
• Strong communication and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs injection molding machines and robots, including tests and inspections of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic components and software.
• Performs safety checks on equipment.
• Educates customers on equipment and proper operation.
• Manages resolution of customer issues including replacement parts as needed.
• Orders replacement parts and diagnoses control-system problems.
• Instructs other technicians and customers on maintenance and safe operation of systems.
• Communicates with Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center to resolve field issues.
• Provides regular written reports to the Service Manager.
