Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will work hands-on with UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, microwave and CCTV gear, providing top-notch customer service and technical solutions.

The role requires solid electronics background, RF theory knowledge, and ability to interpret schematics. Some travel and on-call hours may be needed; valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams; proficient with MS Office.
• Journeyman level within 6 months; CET certification a plus.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ Channels, Trunking, Multiple Zones).
• Install and Service Wireless Communications Equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS, Microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend Appropriate Equipment and Hardware That Meets Customer Requirements.
• Some Regional and/or Overnight Travel and On-Call Hours May Be Required.
