Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will be responsible for hands-on installation, maintenance, and service, ensuring high-quality customer solutions.

The role emphasizes technical troubleshooting, on-site support, and the ability to create practical codeplugs while maintaining excellent customer service. Travel and on-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless/communication field.
• Strong knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and diagrams.
• Proficiency with various test equipment including spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend appropriate equipment and hardware meeting customer requirements.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
