Job summary

Canon USA is seeking a dedicated field service technician to diagnose mechanical, software, network, and system failures, and to service Canon equipment to standard specifications. This role involves traveling to customer sites, performing on-site maintenance, and supporting 24/7 operations.

A strong foundation in internet environments and PDIF training is required. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of related experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and valid driving credentials.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience with 1–2 years related experience.
• Basic understanding of internet environments and ability to complete PDIF new-hire class.
• Ability to travel (valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record).
• Capability to work in a 24/7 environment, with shift work and on-call rotations.
• Required to obtain security/clearances required by customers.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stay active more than 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose basic mechanical, software, network, and system failures using established procedures.
• Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications.
• Maintain knowledge of multiple product groups, including basic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Meet customer demands by providing efficient, responsive field/shop/on-site maintenance.
• Maintain all technical information and Canon property; provide direction to junior technicians.
• Provide solutions for escalated technical and customer service issues across territories.
