Job summary

Smiths Detection, a global leader in threat detection and security screening, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to travel daily around the Dallas Fort Worth Metro area, including the Dallas airport, to install, repair and maintain security equipment.

The role requires 1–3 years of field service experience, an associate/technical degree, strong communication and customer-service skills, and willingness to travel at short notice. Training and safety compliance are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical).
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
• Excellent communications skills and strong customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
• Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repair work and timely paperwork submission.
• Order, install and return parts and manages repair parts cycle time.
• Review logs for open issues and prepare formal reports for customers.
