Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a field service professional to install, repair and maintain equipment in the Detroit metro area. Travel to customer sites is required, with emphasis on customer satisfaction and timely service reporting.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of hands-on troubleshooting experience with electrical/electronic systems, an associate degree or related trade certification, and strong communication skills. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or related trade certification in electrical/electronic/mechanical fields or military training equivalent.
• Minimum 1–3 years troubleshooting and field repair experience on electrical/electronic systems.
• Must be able to travel at short notice; strong customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
• Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training.
• Document inspections, maintenance and repairs; submit paperwork timely.
• Order, install, and return parts; manage repair parts cycle time.
• Review logs for open issues; prepare formal customer reports.
• Support service sales opportunities; promote revenue programs.
• Ensure tools and test equipment are maintained and calibrated.
• Provide technical support to customers and other service professionals.
