Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site diesel and hydraulics service and repairs for Taylor Machine Works equipment. You will coordinate with the Service Supervisor, plan travel, perform maintenance, and ensure customer satisfaction.

The role requires interpreting equipment issues, conducting inspections, and reporting work performed. Travel, lifting up to 50 lbs, and staying at times away from home are involved.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be DOT certifiable.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective work and travel schedule with the Service Supervisor.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair/replace worn parts; install assemblies.
• Provide tools and arrange facilities to perform repair work, usually at customer sites.
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery and after repairs for proper function.
• Report customer, machine, and billing details to the Supervisor for proper invoicing.
• Pursue ongoing technical training and stay current with equipment tech.
• Maintain a neat appearance and keep the service truck clean and orderly.
• Train new servicemen or supervise a team on large repairs.
• Complete work orders and related paperwork promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
