Job summary

Taylor Construction Equipment is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to build strong customer relations and provide prompt after-market support. You will work under the Service Supervisor, diagnose and repair hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems, and train operators on machine operation and maintenance.

The role requires significant field work, occasional overnight stays, travel across territory, reading blueprints, and reporting time and parts for billing.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
• At least three years of field experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• DOT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective work and travel with Service Supervisor.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair/replace worn parts.
• Provide tools/parts and arrange on-site repair.
• Inspect and test equipment on delivery and intervals.
• Report time, parts, and mileage for billing.
• Mentor junior servicemen and supervise teams when needed.
• Maintain neat appearance and service vehicle.
