Job summary

Thompson Machinery, a leading Caterpillar dealer in North Mississippi, is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered construction equipment, often at customer sites.

You will travel regionally, work with advanced diagnostics, and ensure safe, high-quality service. A strong customer focus and self-motivation are essential in this role. This position reports to a Branch Manager and offers a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing CAT training.

Qualifications

• Field Service Technician training or equipment service/maintenance training preferred; high school diploma required.
• 5+ years of equipment diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting experience required; engine experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and service on Caterpillar equipment.
• Work largely independently from a field service truck at customer locations.
• Travel within the assigned region, with potential overtime and overnight travel up to 25%.
• Communicate with customers to provide excellent service.
