Thompson Machinery in Mississippi is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment. This role is largely independent, operating from a company-provided field service truck at customer sites.

You will read manuals and schematics, perform advanced troubleshooting, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction. Overnight travel up to 25% may be required, with a valid driver’s license and basic tool set.

Qualifications

• Proven professionalism, integrity, adaptability and strong customer service focus.
• High school diploma required; training in field service or equipment maintenance preferred.
• 5+ years of equipment diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair and service of Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment.
• Work largely independently from a company-provided field service truck at customer locations and service shops.
• Travel within assigned region up to 25% overnight; may work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Read and interpret manuals, safety/service manuals, schematics, and use test equipment for diagnostics.
• Maintain safety, customer satisfaction and quality repair standards.
