Job summary

Thompson Machinery seeks a Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment. You will operate largely independently from a company-provided field service truck across the region, reporting to a Branch Manager.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 5+ years in diagnostics and troubleshooting, with strong customer service and safety focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 5+ years’ experience with equipment diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment or similar diesel-powered construction equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair and service of Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment to ensure safety and maximum value.
• Travel within assigned region; work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Communicate with customers to provide exceptional service and maintain relationships.
