SJ Mobilita Staffing is recruiting an experienced Field Service Technician for a key manufacturing client. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex industrial equipment, working directly with customers, installing machinery, and traveling to customer locations.
The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of field service, industrial maintenance, equipment installation, or related technical experience, with strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, and motion-control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment at customer locations.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics for high-voltage systems ranging from 220V–440V and low-voltage systems ranging from 12V–24V.
- Use a multimeter to troubleshoot voltage, current, resistance, and other electrical issues.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, including power supplies, inputs, outputs, switches, sensors, and HMIs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot servo drives, motors, and motion-control systems.
- Read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex electromechanical assemblies using hand and power tools.
- Learn and apply fundamentals of CNC lathe controls and programming, including Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar platforms.
- Support magazine bar-feeding systems and CNC lathe part-processing applications.
- Communicate professionally with end users, OEM representatives, dealers, and other customer contacts.
- Provide equipment installation guidance and operator training.
- Maintain accurate digital records of service calls, repairs, customer communications, and technical information.
- Represent the company professionally throughout each customer engagement.
- Travel overnight approximately 50%–75% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–5 years of field service, industrial maintenance, equipment installation, or related technical experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Strong working knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Advanced proficiency using a multimeter.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and motion-control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with common hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain accurate digital service records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight 50%–75%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing CNC machinery, bar-feeding equipment, or automated manufacturing systems.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or comparable CNC controls.
- Experience installing industrial equipment and providing customer/operator training.
