Job summary

Mazak Corporation in Memphis, TN seeks an experienced Field Service Technician to install CNC lathes and machining centers at customer sites, train operators, and perform warranty and post-warranty service. This role requires travel from home and occasional overnight stays, with reporting to the Southeast Technology Center in Suwanee, GA.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and software issues, test machine operation after installation or repair, and complete detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly.
• 3–7 years of Field Service experience with CNC equipment.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of PLCs and machine controls.
• Familiar with HYD/Pneumatic circuits.
• Willing to travel overnight or for multi-night stays.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Strong problem-solving and reporting skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install machines and accessories at customer sites including leveling and wiring.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems.
• Test operation of machines after installation or repair.
• Train customers on machine functions.
• Document installation, repairs and parts in reports.
• Travel overnight or for multiple nights as required.

Job description

We are currently searching for a candidate who will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairs and provide after warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. Field Service Technicians are assigned Regional responsibilities and operate directly from their residences. This position reports to the Southeast Technology Center in Suwanee, GA. Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily in the Memphis, TN area. Travel is required.

Scope and Responsibilities:

• Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
• Install machines and accessories at customer sites. Installation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating and wiring of machines and accessories.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites.
• Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair
• Train customers on functions of the machines
• Learn new machines features and accessories as they become available
• Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, parts installed
• Travel is required. Assignments will require overnight or multiple night stay.
• Utilize various test equipment for trouble shooting purpose, indicators, test bars, clamp force, gages, etc....

Education/Certification:

• 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly
• High School Diploma

Skills:
