Job summary

Veterans Prime, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer for CNC & Industrial Machinery in Atlanta, GA. This full-time, travel-based role offers a compensation range of $80,000–$100,000 plus benefits. The technician will work independently from home base, providing expert support for CNC lathes and machining centers.

You will troubleshoot, install, train, and document service activities while managing a regional travel schedule and overnight stays to support customer sites.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or military equivalent.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment; PLCs a plus.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics; use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and hydraulic/pneumatic issues on CNC machinery.
• Install & Test: Perform post-installation testing to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Train & Educate: Conduct on-site training for customer operators on machine function, maintenance, and safety.
• Document: Accurately log service activity, diagnostics, parts, and resolutions.
• Travel: Manage a regional travel schedule with regular overnight stays to support customer sites.

What You Need

• Education: 2-year technical degree (mechanical, electrical, or machine tool technology) or equivalent military technical experience or demonstrated experience in the maintenance field.
• Experience: Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment; proficiency with PLCs is a plus.
• Skills: Ability to read engineering drawings/schematics; skilled in using diagnostic tools (gauges, test indicators, force meters).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills; capable of working independently.
