Job summary

Mazak Corporation is seeking a Field Service Support Technician to join the Field Service team at our Southwest Technology Center in Houston, TX. You will provide technical phone and digital support on Mazak machines and communicate with customers and stakeholders to ensure exceptional service per corporate metrics.

Responsibilities include handling technical inquiries, documenting calls in D365, and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in field service or related position.
• Two-year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly preferred.
• Four to six years of field service experience is preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Provide technical support commensurate with the ability of the person(s) to safely perform the task.
• Evaluate customer situation to determine needed resources.
• Ensure customers receive a tangible response within corporate guidelines.
• Document summaries of all customer calls in D365 with contacts and actions.
• Compile service history reports for product improvement and customer requests.
• Interact with customers and Mazak associates.

Communicates with customers and other stakeholders and ensures exceptional service support is provided in accordance with corporate metrics and guidelines.

Scope and Responsibilities

• Proactively attain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
• Answer technical questions from customers, field service technicians, vendor / distributor technicians
• Provide technical support that is commensurate with the ability of the person or persons to safely perform the recommended task or procedure
• Evaluate situation at customer to determine what resources if any are needed to resolve the situation
• Ensure customers receive a tangible response within prescribed corporate guidelines
• Thoroughly document summary of all customer calls in D365 including the correct contacts and list of further actions
• Compile service history reports for product improvement and customer requests
• Interact with customers and other Mazak associates
• Read / interpret engineering drawings
• Some travel may be required
• Utilize excellent call center / customer relationship skill set

Education and Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills

• Two years experience is required

• Four to Six years' experience in the field or a related position is preferred
• Microsoft Office experience

Experience
