Job summary

Starrett Metrology Systems Division is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, calibrate, and maintain high-precision metrology systems at customer sites. You will troubleshoot across mechanical, electrical, software domains and provide on-site and remote support, including customer training and documentation.

The role requires an Associate degree or related technical experience, willingness to travel, and strong communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical-equivalent required.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, calibrate, and validate advanced precision measurement equipment at customer facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software and application problems.
• Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to customers.
• Train customers on equipment operation, software functionality, and best practices.
• Complete accurate service reports, time records, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and distributors to resolve issues and improve satisfaction.
