Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a Field Service Technician to address component issues at customer sites, ensuring quality and cost-effective resolutions. You will evaluate products, recommend repairs, and support field team members while adhering to safety practices.

Requires a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of field service or related experience, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2 years of customer service/field service experience or equivalent
• Completion of Truss Technician Training I and II preferred
• Valid driver’s license required and ability to lift 25 lbs, up to 80 lbs on occasion

Responsibilities

• Investigate product conditions at customers’ sites and report findings to the supervisor
• Recommend replacement or repair of defective components per guidelines
• Negotiate and approve third-party repair/adjustment; inspect completed work for quality
• Assist less experienced field service reps with complex issues
• Plan and pace work to meet daily/weekly/project/productivity goals
• Adhere to safety procedures and update practices as needed
• Other duties as assigned
