Job summary

Vertiv in the United States seeks a Field Technician to assist in startup commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear up to 15 kV. You will work with PDU, ATS, PDC, breakers, relays, PLCs and meters under supervision.

The role emphasizes customer rapport, safety, and clear communication with CRC, supervisors and managers. It requires lifting, travel, and hands-on electrical/electronic experience to diagnose and repair equipment in field conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ASMET certification.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 2+ years of hands-on electronic experience or field services.
• Training in electrical theory and technologies.
• Familiarity with electrical/test equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams/blueprints.
• Must have ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds.
• Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Perform a variety of work related tasks.
• Capable of working under general supervision but to a large degree independently.
• Maintain certifications per Job Progression table.
• Render on site and phone assistance to customers.
• Communicate with National Technical Support on equipment issues.
• Perform work related tasks according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance.
• Implement Field Change Notices according to published guidelines.
• Keep current on Safety Bulletins, Safety Field Change Notices, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips.
