Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Field Technician to assist in start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of MV switchgear and related devices. You will maintain excellent rapport with customers, co-workers, and sales reps, while keeping communication with CRC, Supervisor, and manager.

Position requires 5+ years in MV switchgear or field services, electrical theory training, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on MV switchgear or field services experience.
• Electrical theory knowledge; training or prior military service beneficial.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment and schematics.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints for power control and automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in start-up commissioning, integration, emergency service and troubleshooting of MV switchgear.
• Establish and maintain rapport with customers, co-workers, and sales reps.
• Evaluate operating conditions of equipment.
• Interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Manage own schedule and perform preventive maintenance.
• Respond to emergency calls and strive for first-time fix.
• Provide timely reporting and ensure safety compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement; travel 80%.
