Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to support fuel cell products in customer locations, performing preventative maintenance and resolving breakdowns.

The role includes installation, servicing, diagnostics, and field upgrades, with on-call support and travel as needed. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma with electrical coursework, 3+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Must possess a valid driver license, clean driving record, and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with diverse audiences.
• Computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service fuel cells at customer sites.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and evaluate fleet performance at a location.
• Perform field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide on-call and emergency support as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as needed.
• Travel as required; report back to regional service representatives on performance and field issues.
• Document incident reports, service logs, and site documentation; ensure safety procedures are followed.
