Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to install and service fuel cells at customer sites, perform preventive maintenance and resolve breakdowns.

You will report breakdown events, order parts, maintain fuel cell equipment, and communicate with hydrogen suppliers as needed. This role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, safety consciousness, and the ability to work independently at a customer location.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three (3) or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis unassisted.
• Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications is highly preferred.
• General mechanical aptitude is required.
• Computer and software systems skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain fleet at a location.
• Perform field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide on‑call and emergency support service to customers as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support.
• Travel as required for business needs; drive safely and follow traffic laws.
• Represent Plug Power professionally in all interactions.
