Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems or related training.
• 1+ years of field service experience in switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• 1–3 years of related electrical, mechanical, technical, manufacturing, commissioning, or field service experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical docs.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, troubleshooting skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills; customer updates.
• Ability to work independently and escalate issues as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and accurate documentation.
• Ability to train or mentor Field Service Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, PMs, and internal teams.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with PMs and internal teams to resolve field issues.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, and parts usage.
• Assist with training and mentoring Field Service Technicians.
• Perform other duties as needed by management.
