Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Service Engineer who will perform fieldwork at customer sites to resolve and repair server systems. The role is a critical part of post-sales support and supports our Global Service network to build a world-class field engineering organization.

The job requires strong technical aptitude with servers, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under the direction of the Technical Account Manager. Travel to field sites is up to 25% and on-site work is common.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• Minimum 2 years field support servicing complex server systems.
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments is a plus.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• On-site and remote troubleshooting of complex server issues in enterprise environments.
• Drive customer satisfaction through service excellence and timely maintenance.
• Provide 2nd line support to resellers/distributors on all inquiries.
• Travel to customer sites to train and resolve issues; may train new engineers.
• Produce meaningful reports and metrics from field activities.
