Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers by commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting power distribution and protection systems nationwide. The role is based in Ohio with heavy travel and a focus on safe, reliable system performance.

You’ll work with relay models (SEL, GE Multilin, SIPROTEC), use Omicron and Doble test sets, and collaborate with customers and teams to resolve issues and deliver high-quality field reports.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of power distribution systems.
• Experience with protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, SIPROTEC) and related software.
• Proficiency with Omicron and Doble test equipment and relay testing.
• Experience with LV/MV switchgear, breakers, and control circuits.

Responsibilities

• Commission, test, and startup LV to MV power distribution equipment (approx. 480V–38kV).
• Troubleshoot protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, SIPROTEC) and document results.
• Use Omicron/Doble test sets and software to validate system performance.
• Support greenfield and brownfield projects via commissioning, maintenance, and emergency response.
• Analyze test results and communicate findings through clear field reports.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal teams; provide technical support and training.
• Travel extensively up to ~80% domestically to sites across the U.S.
