Job summary

Siemens AG in the United States is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting power distribution and protection systems across industrial environments. This role is travel-intensive, with nationwide assignments and up to 80% travel.

You will work with customers, partners, and internal teams to provide technical support, training, and consulting, installing and starting up equipment from 480V to 38kV, and documenting findings in field reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems.
• Experience with protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) and related configuration software.
• Familiarity with relay testing equipment (Omicron and/or Doble).
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and electrical control circuits.
• Ability to interpret test data and produce technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel up to ~80% domestically; must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Installing, testing, commissioning, and starting up low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment (approximately 480V–38kV).
• Performing hands-on commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control relays.
• Using test equipment and software to validate system performance.
• Supporting greenfield and brownfield projects through commissioning, maintenance, emergency response, and corrective troubleshooting activities.
• Analyzing test results, documenting findings through field reports.
• Working with customers, partners, and internal teams to provide technical support, training, and consulting.
• Traveling extensively to job sites across the U.S. to support field execution and project demands.
