Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Indiana to commission, test, and troubleshoot power distribution and protection systems in industrial environments. This role is travel-heavy, supporting greenfield and brownfield projects nationwide and traveling up to 80% of the time.

You will work with relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC), switchgear, and protection software, documenting findings and delivering expert on-site support, training, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems.
• Experience with protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, SIPROTEC) and relay configuration software.
• Proficient with relay testing equipment such as Omicron and Doble test sets.
• Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and control circuits.
• Ability to interpret test data, assess equipment condition, and produce clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and start up LV‑ to MV distribution equipment.
• Perform hands-on commissioning and testing of protection relays.
• Use Omicron, Doble, and related software to validate systems.
• Support greenfield and brownfield projects with commissioning, maintenance, emergency response, and troubleshooting.
