Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Indiana to commission, test, and troubleshoot power distribution and protection systems across a range of industrial environments. The role is highly travel-oriented, supporting nationwide projects within Siemens’ Electrification Automation business.

You will install, commission, and startup equipment, perform relay testing, and analyze results while documenting findings and providing technical support to customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems.
• Experience with protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) and related configuration software.
• Knowledge of relay testing equipment such as Omicron and Doble test sets.
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and control circuits.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and startup LV–MV power distribution equipment (≈480V–38kV).
• Perform hands-on commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control relays.
• Use test equipment and software to validate system performance.
• Support greenfield and brownfield projects through commissioning, maintenance, and emergency response.
• Analyze test results and document findings in field reports.
• Work with customers and teams to provide technical support and training.
• Travel extensively to job sites across the U.S. for field execution.
