Job summary

MOTAN INC in Plainwell, MI is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician/Engineer to support plastic resin handling equipment. You will diagnose faults, repair and maintain systems, and conduct on-site service calls at customer facilities from our Plainwell base.

As part of a collaborative team, you will train customers on equipment operation and maintenance, document activities, and coordinate with engineering and sales to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 2+ years in technical service, field service, or customer support.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused mindset.
• Willingness to travel locally for on-site visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers in person, by phone, and via email
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance
• Conduct on-site service calls and installations at customer facilities
• Document service activities, maintenance records, and customer interactions accurately
• Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to resolve complex technical issues
• Train customers on proper equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices
• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and escalate unresolved issues appropriately
