Job summary

MOTAN INC is looking for a skilled Customer Service Technician to join our Plainwell, MI team. This hands-on role acts as the critical link between customers and our plastic resin handling equipment, ensuring satisfaction at every touchpoint.

You will perform on-site service calls, troubleshoot and repair equipment, train customers, and collaborate with engineering and sales to resolve complex issues. Local travel will be required to serve customers effectively.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Electro-mechanics or related field.
• 2+ years in a technical service, field service, or customer support role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers in person, by phone, and by email.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct on-site service calls and installations at customer facilities.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers in person, by phone, and via email
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance
• Conduct on-site service calls and installations at customer facilities
• Document service activities, maintenance records, and customer interactions accurately
• Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to resolve complex technical issues
• Train customers on proper equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices
• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and elevate unresolved issues appropriately

Requirements:

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Electro-mechanics or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a technical service, field service, or customer support role
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Proficiency with service management software and basic computer applications
• Willingness to travel locally for on-site customer service visits as needed
