Oxford Instruments is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to install, service, and maintain advanced microscopy systems across North and South America. The role requires extensive travel and hands-on problem solving, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer support.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree and 2–4 years in field service, with strong diagnostic abilities, willingness to travel, and proficiency with Windows-based diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a technical field (EE/ME/Physics/Materials/Life Science).
• 2–4 years field service experience in microscopy/analytical instrumentation beneficial.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with hardware/software systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and commissioning of systems per factory specs. Provide User Familiarization training at installations.
• Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance; diagnose root causes and verify repairs against performance benchmarks.
• Build trust with customers through responsive communication and hands-on training across analytical workflows.
• Resolve complex hardware/software issues using specialized tools; provide remote support to minimize downtime.
• Calibrate components and implement upgrades to ensure system reliability and throughput.
