Job summary

Waters is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Northern Indiana, covering surrounding states. The role involves daily travel to customer sites, installing and servicing instruments, and ensuring GMP/ISO-compliant service.

This is a hands-on, on-site field role with substantial travel, equipment handling, and problem-solving responsibilities. Applicants should have 3+ years of troubleshooting experience, a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is the minimum education.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience troubleshooting instruments or components.
• Valid Driver’s License required for travel between sites.
• willingness to travel at least 50% of working time.
• Capability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s in Electronics/Engineering.
• Experience as Field Service Engineer for medical devices is a plus.
• Flow cytometry experience is advantageous.
• Customer-facing experience is essential.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools (digital volt meters, oscilloscopes) and MS Office; familiar with Mac/PC.

Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation to ISO and GMP standards with follow-up.
• Maintain car stock, test equipment, tools and documentation; follow fleet policy.
• Keep travel and site visit expenses within guidelines; manage company cards and spare parts inventory.
• Report quality control and technical problems to Service Center/Manager; coordinate cross‑functionally to resolve issues.
• Represent BD with professionalism and uphold high service standards on-site.
