Job summary

DHR Engineering in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical background to service our robotic cells at customer sites across the US. You will diagnose mechanical failures, perform on-site repairs, and coordinate with electrical and controls engineers to keep systems running safely and at peak performance.

Candidates should have 3+ years in field service, read drawings and schematics, and be comfortable traveling 50–70%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service, installation or maintenance of industrial machinery or automation equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
• Hands-on with precision measuring tools and alignment.
• Safe work practices including lockout/tagout and rigging.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls at customer sites and restore machines quickly.
• Represent DHR Engineering professionally on customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and decide on fix: repair, replacement, or report to engineers.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems and fix leaks.
• Collaborate with headquarters engineers during installations and upgrades.
• Set up robot positions, alignment tooling and recover from faults safely.
• Check sensors, cables and motors; read I/O and alarms under guidance.
• Work with engineers remotely to locate root causes crossing mec/elec.
• Carry out preventive maintenance.
• Write clear service reports with photos and measurements.
• Manage spare parts and source locally when needed.
