Job summary

DHR Engineering is seeking a Field Service Engineer with a strong electrical and controls background who can also handle mechanical work. You will join a team that connects robots, CNCs, CMMs, and third-party equipment, diagnosing faults online with our engineers and performing on-site repairs.

You will travel up to 50–70% across the US to customer sites, set up and commission new cells, and provide preventive maintenance and training to customer staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service, commissioning or maintenance of industrial automation equipment.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting 24 VDC control and 480 VAC three-phase circuits.
• Hands-on with Siemens S7 PLCs and TIA Portal: online/offline logic reading and I/O forcing.
• Experience with servo drives, VFDs and industrial networks.
• Knowledge of machine-safety circuits and NFPA 70E.
• Willingness to travel up to 50–70% across the US and good English communication.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls at customer sites and restore machines quickly.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults: power distribution, sensors, drives and safety circuits.
• Go online with Siemens PLCs and HMIs; modify logic with controls team.
• Set up and tune robots, servo drives, VFDs, AGVs and vision systems on site.
• Integrate cells with customer equipment; test signals and network connections.
• Repair mechanical components like grippers and pneumatics where needed.
