Job summary

Bystronic is seeking a Field Service Engineer to travel nationwide installing, troubleshooting, and repairing laser cutting and automation systems, and press brake machines.

This role requires 100% overnight travel, Monday-Friday, with a high school diploma required and additional engineering training preferred. Expect hands-on servicing, customer training, and detailed reporting at customer sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; an associates or technical degree in engineering preferred.
• Hands-on field service experience with large machinery or machine tool installation, repair and preventive service.
• Customer service focus is essential for this role.
• Willingness to travel 100%, mainly within the United States; occasional international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, commission and troubleshoot machine tools.
• Provide high-level technical support to ensure peak performance of sheet metal machinery.
• Enter service reports accurately.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems; perform repairs and install new machines.
• Provide training guidance on machine operation, maintenance, and safety at customer sites.
