Job summary

Galatek is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to ensure installation, performance, reliability, and uptime of laboratory automation systems across North America.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong troubleshooting in robotics, motion control, and software-driven instruments. Travel 40–60% with Boston as a preferred residence, and regular collaboration with teams in China.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in field service engineering or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin strongly preferred for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and validate laboratory automation instruments at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and system retrofits.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, fluidic, and software issues.
• Own uptime and service quality for assigned accounts; document activities and analyses.
• Train customers on instrument operation and maintenance best practices.
