Job summary

FORMULATRIX in Boston, MA is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install and maintain our biotech automation systems and to support researchers in fast-paced environments.

You will travel up to 60% across the US and Canada, troubleshoot hardware and software, train customers, and provide detailed notes and feedback to product teams.

The role requires a hands-on mindset, comfort with computers and basic IT, and a willingness to learn quickly on-site and in the field.

Qualifications

• Affinity for fixing things.
• Comfortable with computers, networking, and basic IT activities.
• Quick learner with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with robotics, software, microfluidics, and optics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• On-site installations and maintenance of lab equipment on the east coast, and possibly across the U.S. depending on needs.
• Customer training and support from home and in the field, via phone, email, or remote access tools such as TeamViewer.
• Up to 60% overnight travel.
• Record customer interactions and issues in the internal CRM database.
• Provide detailed notes of on-site support work.
• Follow up with engineers and product managers to ensure customer issues have been addressed.
