Job summary

Siemens Energy is offering a Field Service Engineer in Training Program that combines classroom instruction with hands-on field experience across North America. You will work with experienced engineers to support energy infrastructure and gain skills to become a field engineering expert.

The program expects a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, willingness to travel extensively (200-250 days/year), and a readiness to work long hours during outages and projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field by start date.
  • Willing to travel 200-250 days per year, with extended time away from home.
  • Willingness to work long weeks (60-84 hours during peak periods).
  • Open to extended stays at customer sites across the US.

Responsibilities

  • Complete classroom and instructor-led training in Orlando, FL and Houston, TX.
  • Supervise technicians during power plant maintenance shutdowns.
  • Coordinate upgrading of mechanical and electrical systems on turbine generators to increase power output and efficiency.
  • Travel to power generation facilities across North America to support outages, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Develop expertise in power generation systems and field engineering practices.
