Job summary

Siemens Energy in the United States is seeking a Field Service Engineer to travel across North America, supporting gas and steam turbines, generators, and related systems. You will be the technical face on outages and maintenance projects, coordinating with customers and Siemens engineers.

The role offers hands-on training at our Orlando and Houston centers, leadership opportunities, and exposure to high-performance power generation technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent military/industrial experience.
• 3+ years of field service, outage, maintenance, commissioning or power generation experience.
• Experience working around rotating equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across North America for up to 250 days/year, with assignments lasting 2–15 weeks and long hours.
• Physically capable of climbing ladders, inspecting confined spaces, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians and mechanics during power plant maintenance outages.
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble turbines and generators.
• Collaborate with global engineering to conduct testing and serve as primary customer contact during outages.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
• Perform inspections, measurements and performance testing.
• Support commissioning, startup and modernization projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards.
