Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Service Engineer II in Texas with remote responsibilities to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sophisticated analytical instrumentation at customer sites, including next-generation sequencing systems and clinical sequencing technologies.

You will work with researchers, industry, and healthcare customers, traveling 50–75% within the territory, delivering technical guidance, training, and trusted support to maximize instrument performance and

Qualifications

Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to diagnose complex equipment issues using documentation and schematics.
Experience with analytical, life sciences, sequencing, clinical instrumentation.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation at customer sites.
Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, and system-level issues and determine corrective actions.
Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and system upgrades.
Support NGS and clinical sequencing instrumentation and related technologies.
Document service activities and prepare clear reports.
Travel within territory to meet customer commitments.
