Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Engineer II, Field Service to install, calibrate, repair and maintain electro-mechanical instrumentation supported by One Lambda (TDX). The role requires extensive travel (75%), remote work within Texas or Virginia, and adherence to GMP safety standards.

Strong problem-solving and customer-facing skills are essential. Responsibilities include problem solving on-site, preventive maintenance, parts management, and ensuring timely service records.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred and/or 3+ years of field equipment service experience.
• Familiarity and prior experience with Tecan automation hardware/software preferred.
• Hands on experience maintaining, calibrating, repairing electromechanical medical device

Responsibilities

• Basic problem solving, installation, maintenance and service repair needs on designated equipment following technical service manuals for the instrument.
• Completing Preventative Maintenance and Field Upgrade Modification per instructions (upgrades, technical bulletins, service manuals).
• Travel up to 75% of the time and manage scheduling of planned maintenance and on-demand services.
• Maintain customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
• Communicate with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up to achieve customer satisfaction.
