Job summary

Quanterix is seeking a Field Service Engineer II based in Chicago, IL to deliver installation, training, preventive maintenance, and repair support for Simoa and Spatial Biology platforms. The role focuses on high-quality service and customer satisfaction in a field-based capacity.

You will manage regional service workloads, collaborate with internal teams, and develop proficiency across platforms through ongoing training, travel up to 70%, and hands-on problem solving to ensure ultrasensitive

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related technical discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4+ years of field service experience with scientific, medical, or laboratory instrumentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% with overnight travel as required.
• Experience with microscopy, digital imaging, fluorescence, microfluidics, and motion control systems preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction and internal collaboration.
• Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).

Responsibilities

• Install, validate, maintain, and repair Simoa and Spatial platforms onsite.
• Diagnose issues and repair routine to moderately complex problems.
• Train customers on instrument operation and maintenance.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate service with Field Service Manager.
• Maintain service tools, calibrations, and trunk stock inventory.
• Build proficiency on one platform and expand to others through training.
• Collaborate with Technical Support, Field Application Scientists, Sales and internal teams.
• Direct customer inquiries to proper support channels and ensure resolution.
• Other duties as necessary.
