Job summary

VITA Detection USA Inc. builds advanced X-ray security screening systems, including 3D Perspective X-ray baggage scanners and the VITA Sentinel software.

We’re hiring a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Texas. In this field-based role, you’ll install, commission, maintain and repair VITA systems at customer sites such as airports, government facilities, corporate and retail loss-prevention sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in field service engineering or technical support
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English and Spanish (optional), with a focus on customer engagement
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols
• Certifications in relevant technical areas (e.g., HVAC, CNC machinery)
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software
• Experience with system integration and troubleshooting methodologies
• Knowledge of control systems and automation technologies
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technology
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate and commission X-ray inspection systems and related software at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical, X-ray and software faults.
• Run radiation safety surveys and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Train operators and customer staff on system use and safety.
• Write service reports and log service activity in CRM or ticketing system.
• Provide field feedback to engineering and product teams.
• Travel across Texas and neighboring states with on-call support.
