Job summary

Astrophysics Inc. is recruiting a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair X-Ray security inspection systems at customer sites across the Calexico, CA area.

The role requires regular travel, reliable vehicle transport, and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment, complete service documentation, and provide customer training and support as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 2-7 years technical support or field service experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and ability to travel to various work sites.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• Must be eligible for and able to maintain a Secret-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, and preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Complete all necessary service documentation, including reports and survey forms.
• Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions and return defective parts.
• Input and maintain data in service databases and proprietary software.
• Review information prior to arriving on-site and prepare equipment and documentation.
• Update service headquarters on progress and status of service call.
• Deliver customer packages including warranties and reports.
• Provide excellent customer service experience.
• Promote extended warranty service contracts and repeat purchases.
• Provide operator or technical training.
• Provide technical phone support and documentation.
• Support for custom product installations, upgrades, and special projects.
