Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and maintain capital equipment at customer sites, focusing on uptime and performance of semiconductor systems.

The role involves troubleshooting electrical, control, and mechanical systems, reading schematics, and providing on-site support and training to customers and service teams. Significant travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years field service in semiconductor or precision manufacturing.
• Experience with automation systems and PLC programming.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally; read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and qualify equipment at customer facilities, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, control, and mechanical systems on-site, including PLCs, sensors, drives, and power distribution.
• Diagnose faults using P&AIDs, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings; implement corrective actions and document resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and upgrades to maintain system performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and local service teams on operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D and product engineering to identify design improvements and report recurring issues.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, including site reports, spare parts usage, and service logs in the CRM/ERP system.
• Manage spare parts inventory for assigned region and assist with logistics for field repairs and replacements.
• Adhere to company safety policies and customer-specific site safety requirements while working in cleanrooms or manufacturing environments.
• Travel regularly to customer sites domestically and internationally as required, and respond to after-hours service calls on a rotating basis.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and maintain capital equipment at customer sites. The role focuses on ensuring high uptime and optimal performance of semiconductor and precision manufacturing systems by providing hands‑on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and technical support. The Field Service Engineer will work closely with customers, service teams, and engineering to resolve complex electrical and automation issues and to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 3‑5 years experience in field service, applications, or maintenance roles supporting semiconductor or precision manufacturing equipment.
• Proven experience with automation systems and PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or equivalent).
• Strong ability to read and interpret P&AIDs, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Hands‑on experience with precision manufacturing equipment and cleanroom protocols is highly desirable.
• Solid electrical troubleshooting skills including fault isolation, wiring, and power systems.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet) and motion control systems.
• Excellent customer‑facing skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and teach end users.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
• Valid drivers license; certifications such as IPC, OSHA, or equivalent are a plus.
• Strong problem solving, documentation, and teamwork skills; commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
