Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform root-cause analysis and drive long-term corrective actions.
  • Review tool-performance data to identify trends and risks.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to less-experienced engineers.
  • Document service activities and update procedures and best practices.
  • Communicate solutions and progress clearly with customer engineers.
  • Participate in or manage escalations with cross-functional teams.
  • Own the customer-technical relationship as senior onsite representative.
  • Provide field insights to R&D and product teams, supporting beta tools.

Overview

A global leader in advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology is seeking experienced Field Service Engineers to support a premier customer site. This role is critical to keeping sophisticated fabrication equipment running reliably, directly influencing tool performance, customer satisfaction, and next-generation manufacturing capabilities.

What you'll do
  • Install, maintain, and repair semiconductor equipment with minimal supervision (Senior Engineer I) or as the senior technical lead for installation, optimization, and recovery (Senior Engineer II)
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex tool or process issues using structured diagnostic methods
  • Perform root-cause analysis and recommend or drive data-driven, long-term corrective actions
  • Review tool-performance data to identify trends, risks, or improvement opportunities
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to less-experienced engineers
  • Document service activities and contribute to procedure and best-practice updates
  • Communicate solutions, progress, and expectations clearly with customer engineers
  • Participate in or manage escalations end-to-end alongside cross-functional engineering teams
  • Own the customer-technical relationship, anticipating operational needs and acting as the senior onsite technical representative (Senior Engineer II)
  • Provide detailed field insights to R&D, product, and design teams, including support for beta tools or early-option deployments (Senior Engineer II)
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field with 6+ years of experience, OR a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience, OR a PhD degree with 0+ years of experience (Senior Engineer I)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of experience, OR a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, OR a PhD degree with 4+ years of experience (Senior Engineer II)
  • Hands-on experience in semiconductor field service or semiconductor capital-equipment environments
  • Proven ability to interpret electronic and electromechanical schematics
  • Solid experience with structured troubleshooting methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of cleanroom environments and semiconductor safety protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced fab environments
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed, at least 75% domestic and international travel required
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience supporting beta tools or early-option equipment
  • Knowledge of wafer-fab operations, robotics, vacuum systems, plasma, RF, or gas handling
  • Experience writing or updating procedures or technical documentation
  • Strong customer-service approach and exceptional organizational skills
  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex troubleshooting programs or technical initiatives
  • Experience owning customer-technical relationships, including managing expectations and building long-term partnerships
  • Strong capability in mentoring and developing field engineers
  • Hands-on expertise with fab robotics, vacuum systems, plasma, RF, or gas-delivery systems
  • Experience providing structured feedback to engineering or product development teams
  • Experience evaluating or supporting beta-stage or early-option tools
