As the primary technical representative in the field, the Field Service Engineer collaborates closely with customers, engineering, operations, and third‑party vendors to diagnose and resolve complex equipment challenges, implement continuous improvements, and support long‑term customer success. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise with a proactive, customer‑focused mindset and a passion for hands‑on problem solving.

Primary Responsibilities
Equipment Installation & Commissioning

Lead the installation, commissioning, startup, and validation of equipment at customer sites. Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and technical documentation to ensure proper installation and operation. Calibrate machine components, perform system testing, implement upgrades and modifications as needed, and train customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

Serve as the primary technical resource for diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls‑related equipment issues. Utilize diagnostic tools and structured problem‑solving techniques to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and restore equipment performance. Respond to customer inquiries, service requests, and emergency situations while partnering with engineering and internal support teams to resolve complex technical challenges.

Maintenance & Service Delivery

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and maximize uptime. Inspect equipment for operational effectiveness, execute repairs, coordinate replacement parts as needed, and document all service activities accurately. Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to schedule and execute service activities with minimal disruption to operations.

Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional service and technical expertise. Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing recommendations that improve equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency. Collaborate effectively with customers, vendors, and cross‑functional teams while representing the company professionally during all field service activities.

Safety & Compliance

Promote a culture of safety by adhering to all company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Maintain safe work practices, utilize appropriate personal protective equipment, and ensure compliance with established industry standards. Safeguard company assets, including vehicles, tools, equipment, and service inventory.

  • Working knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, PLC‑controlled equipment, servo systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic components.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in the field.
