Position Summary

Under remote supervision, the Field Service Engineer I at Advanced Sterilization Products is responsible for providing customer service solutions related to installation and validation of new ASP systems, planned and corrective maintenance of installed ASP systems, improving system utilization, and supporting lifecycle management activities in assigned accounts for all supported products.

Location

The candidate will work remotely and must reside in or around the Atlanta, GA area (Decatur, Norcross, Snellville, Lawrenceville, Duluth).

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with sales and clinical education teams to deliver customer-focused solutions that drive loyalty and sustain the ASP install base.
  • Manage responsibilities within the primary territory, including compliance and documentation.
  • Perform installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and modifications of ASP systems within the territory.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, document performance, and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with leadership, customers, and scheduling personnel for technical work.
  • Support and respond to critical customer service needs, troubleshoot issues, and perform corrective actions.
  • Complete training and documentation requirements timely.
  • Assist in design changes to improve equipment efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Plan installation projects for new equipment.
  • Manage customer expectations to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete activities within the Service System, including RMA processing and inventory management.
  • Provide guidance to customers and support when issues arise.
  • Contribute feedback for design improvements.
  • Support beta site installations and perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position requires on-call responsibilities, including weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
Qualifications

Education: High School or higher; minimum of 3 years related experience with an Associate's Degree.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in customer support/technical support; 2+ years in customer service; 3+ years in field service in electronics or medical device industry, or as a Biomedical Engineer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Motivated to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Effective communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
Computer Skills
  • Experience with office and customized management software.
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, Access.
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of inventory management, business practices, and calibrated tools.
  • Preferred: 4+ years in medical device industry, MCP or equivalent certification, Microsoft A+ certification.
External Interactions
  • Primarily hospital environments, with travel up to 50% domestically.
Physical and Work Environment

Must be able to lift 80 lbs, operate vehicles, and travel frequently. Work includes site visits, local and overnight travel, and possible weekend or evening work.
